Do you think you’re a candidate?

If not you may want to think again…

If you are anything like me, you probably raced motocross and maybe you dreamed of being a pro or even a champion. You probably trained, practiced, and set racing goals and gave your all to accomplish those goals.  Most likely you experienced difficulty, frustration and disappointment at some point, but you kept going, and ultimately you realized some amazing results that without your efforts, were not going to happen.

Perhaps like me, you got the taste of accomplishment, and discovered for yourself what it took to realize something that at first seemed out of reach. You may have also realized that whatever it took to accomplish your racing goals made you a better person on and off the track, and you kept going by setting even more lofty goals to see who you could be and what you could accomplish.

One thing that great coaches do have in common is a strong desire to make a difference for others!

If you can see yourself in any of this, then I want you to know that to be a professional motocross coach does not require you to have earned a championship, be a known factory rider, or the fastest guy on the track.  Consider, none of that makes you a coach.

This is obvious in most sports, but in motocross there is a perception that to be a coach, you must be fast— and unfortunately, many times that’s all that is required.  The notion is if you can go faster than me, you must have the ability to coach me.  One thing that great coaches have in common is a strong desire to make a difference for others!

Speed and past racing victories can be good marketing tools at first, but ultimately, if that is all you have to offer, you will fall short…

When I started MX Coach I was not a champion, a factory rider, nor the fastest one at my local track— and there was nothing media worthy about my past professional racing performances except that they were my own personal bests.  Speed and past racing victories can be good marketing tools at first, but ultimately, if that is all you have to offer, you will fall short of what is possible as a coach.

Perhaps you realized that you enjoy teaching, and became aware that you have much to offer from what you discovered in your own racing journey.

One day I started teaching some riders to see if I really could pass on to others what I had worked so hard to discover for myself.

First prerequisite for being a coach - you love teaching!

MX Coach integrates all four aspects a comprehensive motocross program: 1) Mental 2) MX Technique 3) Athletics, and 4) Sports Nutrition.

Standing on the shoulders of my background in motocross racing, as well as my training in ontological coaching, I saw that I could put together an unprecedented program.

As I have written in About Joe DeGano I did just that by making unreasonable and bold requests of the masters to train and mentor me and also immersed myself in the study of: Ontology, Sports Science, Neuroscience, and Physics as related to motocross and athletic high-performance.

The rest is history. I started MX Coach in 2001 and have been coaching professionally in a unique scientific approach guided by the masters at the highest level of their art and craft.

Today you can have this opportunity of a life-time to be personally trained and mentored to Be a MX Coach and have a thriving motocross coaching business.
